This book was about the story of Ali Hafed the ancient Persian. This man had orchards, gardens, grain-fields, a large farm and he had money. Because he was wealthy he felt to be a contented man. He was contented because he was wealthy and wealthy because he was contented. This man came to understand that diamonds can be extremely valuable. He decided to give up his land and all that he had to go in search of diamonds. He figured that when he found them he would be even richer than before. Hafed’s fate wasn’t what he expected. The man searched and searched for diamonds but never found any. Because he was so broken, weak & destitute one day he threw himself into the ocean and drowned. Later when Hafed’s successor was looking on the property he noticed something shining and picked it up and put it on his mantle. One day when a priest visited, he explained that the item on the mantle was a huge diamond! Come to find out the entire property was littered with them. Ali Hafed’s property was worth millions and he never thought to look there first. The morale of the story is had Ali Hafed stayed and dug in his own property or his own garden rather than a path of wretchedness, starvation and death by suicide…he would have had Acres of Diamonds.
